Sain tänään ColourMartista tilaamani näytepaketin. Aiemmin en ollut ihan tajunnut lankojen silittelyä, mutta nyt ymmärrän :) Ihania ovat! Jostain syystä sytyn eniten vähän paksummille langoille. Aion neuloa jokaisesta näytetilkun ja tehdä niille nimilaput, jotta sitten auttavat minua toivottavasti monen tulevan vuoden aikana lankavalinnoissa. Jotenkin tuntuu kivalta saada hieman harvinaisempaa lankaa tällä tavoin. Mitään tietoa ei ole myöskään öljyjen pesusta, mutta aina sitä on jotenkin tekemllä oppinut.
Tilasin myös Fitted Knits-kirjan pari päivää sitten. Pidän räätälöidyistä vaatteista, ja sain tuosta kirjasta vainun, että mallien loputulos saattaisi olla hyvin istuva. En ole ommellut vuosikausiin itselleni mitään alusta loppuun, mutta pari päivää sitten hankin kankaat takkimekkoon. Toivottavasti se kasaantuisi kuukauden sisällä. Vuorikangas, jonka ostin on itse asiassa Dolce Gabbanan muotihuoneen ylijäämäkangasta pienine DG-logoineen. Lopulta vaihdoin itse kankaan sopimaan vuoreen, enkä vuorta sopimaan kankaaseen, kuten ehkä yleisemmin on tapana. :)
Ompelun aloittaminen on aina hieman työläämpää neulomisen aloittaminen, koska minulla ei ole mitään kunnollista ompelutilaa kotonani ja ompelukoneeninkin hajosi. Täytyy siis valloittaa äidin ompleuhuone.

Today I recieved the sample ordered from ColourMart. I never really understood the charm in touching and admiring only yarn but now I see what they're talking about! These are soooo lovely! For some reason I prefer the DK-weight yarn. I will knit samples from each of these yarn and also make a name tag for them. Maybe also take a photo and put it in Raverly (only the photography is quite hopless this time of the year here in Finland as there is so little natures' light). These samples can be helpful in deciding future yarns. It feels nice to be able to have a bit more rare yarn this way. I have no idea of washing the oil off, but then again I have nearly always been able to grasp the idea of new things while doing them.
I also bought the Fitted Knits-book as I like tailored cloth and a fabric for a dress-jacket (what ever that is in correct english) or jacket-dress. It has been years that I have not sewn anything form the beginning to end for myself, but now I will. The fabric for the lining was actually so nice that I ended up choosing the main fabric to fit the lining. Lining fabric is from the House of Dolce and Gabbana, surplus fabric I guess. This is not the conservative manner of choosing the material I assume. Beginning a sewing project is usually a bit more challenging than a knitting project as sewing involves so many different stages and demands of surroundings. I neither have a sewing room and my sewing machine is broken as well. So I will have to conquer the sewing room of my mom.
